Matías Ortiz is a landscape-focused painter inspired by the quiet power of the sea and the ever-changing atmosphere of coastal landscapes. Born in Buenos Aires, his artistic practice grew from a deep fascination with open horizons, ocean light and the feeling of distance created by the shoreline.
His paintings interpret the ocean through simplified compositions, soft movement and layered tones of blue, sand and muted earth colors.
